Storytelling was my entrypoint into design. Each interaction we have with people, nature, products or service becomes part of our individual story, and I saw design as a way for me to author discovery, utility and joy for myself and others.

Along with design ...

Flower gardening, landscape design, composting, cycling and reading take up the lion share of my time when I’m not at my computer. I love all things that grow and firmly believe in the power of time spent in nature. For me, gardening is rooted in design - researching hardiness zones, soil acidity, fertilizing periods, watering schedules and pruning. It’s an ever evolving conversation with plants, and ultimately they’re they ones who decide whether your care is up to scratch.

In terms of reading, I span the genre gamut. Nothing beats a well narrated audiobook - especially since our first child arrived over a year ago and the new status quo is has shifted from free time to keeping up with a curious toddler. Audiobook narrators such as Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings), Jim Dale (Harry Potter) and Derek Perkins (Sapiens) are some of my voice acting heroes. Thanks to their immersive and pliable voices, I’d like to think they’ve improved my speech craft as well.
